Need Advice - Covering Flagstone

This is probably not your typical question but I am hoping someone can give me some advice.

We recently purchased a home with flagstone floors in the entry way, kitchen, family, hallway and office areas. It is beautiful and we like it very much. However, we have a soon to be walking baby and are concerned about him falling on this unforgiving surface. Rather than remove this floor, we would like to cover it for a few years, possibly with carpeting, and remove it when our children are past that toddler stage.

Is this possible? Does anyone have any recommendations for a type of flooring that would work best?

I have a horrible looking old patio pool area that is flagstone. The flagstone is constantly getting green scum all over it. I have had it professionally cleaned and bleached, I've tried everything. There has to be something I can resurface or install over the flagstone. Any suggestions? Thanks

First thing you will have to do is be sure there are no bad areas in the existing floor, then be sure it's level. Laying carpet you will need to be sure you have a mat underneath the carpet for cushion and protection. Try not to use a flooring that requires an adhesive as that will create problems when you try to remove it. Laminate flooring is also an option. Mat down then lock in your laminate flooring.

Good luck
