We had a Pool put in last year and the stone we picked for the Copeing and Borders is called Arkansas Blue.

Intially the color was great ( Blue/Black ).
However, after a short period of time the stone started to turn Brown on the surface and edges.
We have been told that this is due to iron content in the stone.
The Pools Company came out once and Acid washed the stone and the color was resored to its original look but than after a few days it again turned brown.
Do you have any suggestions???
The pool company has offered to tear all the stone out and replace but they advise that there is no guarantee it will not happen again.

We are at loss on what to do.

If you have any suggestions we would really appreciate it.

Thank you

You have what sounds like heavy iron ore content and the stone is oxidizing or bleeding, this issue happens alot in certain regions of the U.S. but mostly southwest and southeast. Did you have a sealer put on the stone or is it still natural. If you installer is willing to fix the issue, then I would possibly consider another type of stone.
