I LIVE IN GOODYEAR ARIZONA AND THE CEMENT THAT YOU RECOMMEND IS NOT AVAILABLE HERE. THE REP FROM HOLCIM SAID TO GO TO MY LOCAL SUPPLIER. IS THERE A PORTLEND CEMENT MIX WITH CERTAIN ADDITIVES AND % THAT I SHOULD LOOK FOR NOW, OR IS THERE ANOTHER MANUFACTURER THAT I SHOULD LOOK FOR.

Dear Ross,

There are probably a lot of quality Portland Type I-II cements. My dad has had good luck with his, so that's why he recommends it.

The problem with cheaper Portland is efflorescence. They tend to have more lime and will cause white blotches to come out.

You should call the place where you got stone. Ask for their recommended Portland. They deal with masons all of the time, so they should be able to recommend a quality cement.

I hope that helps out.

Take care,

David
