Top layer sluffing off

by Pat S.
(Bay City, TX)

I had flagstone installed around a new inground pool. The top layer of the stone tends to "sluff" off, especially when it rains but not limited to wet days. Some of it goes into the pool (especially when it rains) and it is a real problem to keep the pool clean. Will it help if I pressure wash or seal the stone? Unfortunately the pool contractor has moved his business and I can't locate him. Thanks and regards.

pools are tough on stone
by: David

Dear Pat,

The chemicals in pools are really hard on stone. We get a lot of questions about that. You'll need to seal your stone, but that doesn't always work either.

You should give Prosoco a call. They are the chemical people we call for problems like yours. Their number is 1-800-255-4255.

Great luck!
