Texas Mix Flagstone

by Donna Wolfe
(Dayton,Texas )

We are building a new home for the first time and the builders put Hardy Plank siding on the top half of the one story house with a 2 by 4 tilted down then a 3 ft wall of Texas mix Flagstone at the bottom. The question is what should be used to seal the gap between the stone and the 2 by 4 . The builder used caulking and a lot of it but it looks terible ? need your help soon I do not want to close on the house if another material can be used that will not be so noticable. Thank you Donna Wolfe.

Urethane Caulking
by: David

I called the building supplier that my dad has used for decades and they could only recommend urethane caulking, so that's probably why your builder is using that. He said not to use silicone caulking, because it won't last as long.

It comes in 10 different colors, so hopefully you can find a color that will suit your taste.

That's the best I could find out for you. I hope that helps out.

Great luck!!
