Stone Patios. We Are Here To Help You!

Flagstone, stone patios, and other masonry tips is what this site is about.

I started this website in early 2005 in order to get the knowledge of my father out to people. He is 72 and slowing down and I figured he could help a lot of people out with their landscape dreams.

The site has been doing great and I will keep writing articles and posting pictures as we get them from people or from the few jobs that my father does now.

Here are a few pictures and ideas to get you going on your stone patio.

Stone Patio

This is a picture of Colorado Red Flagstone Patio Squares. These are pre-cut stone, which costs a little more than irregular stone.

We live in the Denver area and charge about $15 per square foot which includes this type stone.

Stone Patio 2

The flagstone patio above is layed using irregular Colorado Red Flagstone.

We're told from our architect that pre-cut stone is good for contemporary homes and irregular stone is good for more traditional homes.

The picture above is also what we used for our video that we made.

Here is a patio layed in sand. You can choose to lay a patio in sand or in concrete.

Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Stone Patio 4

As you can see from above, flagstone laid in concrete stays more smooth whereas flagstone laid in sand shifts more and has weeds grow through the cracks.

The above picture and the one below were sent to us from people that learned from our site and built their own patios.

Kelly from Allen, Texas laid the sand patio above and Troy from Phoenix laid the huge patio below.

Both gentlemen sent me about 20 pictures each.

This next picture came from a gentleman from Virginia that had problems with his patio.

The contractors did a very poor job and we helped him with some solutions.

I just wanted to show you this picture as an example of Blue Stone. These are also pre-cut, but you can get them irregular as well.

Stone Patio 7

My dad has probably installed hundreds, maybe thousands, of stone patios.

We hope you can use the information from this site on your patio.

You might want to put this site under your favorites, because I keep updating it with new pictures and ideas.

Great luck!!
