Scratched flagstone

by Annie
(Denver, CO)

We have a beautiful meandering path of red flagstone running through our garden. The stones are irregular and not sealed. Over the past year, various yard workers have hauled their machinery over the stones (despite us asking them not to) and scratched and chipped the stones.

Is there anything we can do to remove the scratches (which appear white against the red)? A chemical to apply? A material to buff out the scratches and marks?
Thanks!

Dear Annie,

I'm sorry that your workers did that. I will link you to three pages with comments that should help you out.

Colorado red stone will weather over time, so the scratches won't be as noticeable, but for now these should help you out:

Article 1

Article 2

Article 3

Great luck!
