Laying flagstone on concrete steps

We want to lay flagstone on a concrete patio and a set of wide garden concrete stairs. How difficult is it to do the stairs? What do we do on the overhanging edge? Do we cut the flagstone and make it even or do we leave an edge hanging over? Thank you.

Dear Lisa,

It's like laying any other flagstone, but you'll have to take your time and get some pre-cut stone from a stoneyard. The overhang should be about and inch to inch and a half and you want it rough. A cut edge looks amateurish. We have a picture of a company who did that and it looks bad. Check it out here:
