Gouges in flagstone front porch and steps

We just had flagstone installed over our concrete front porch and stairs. While the stone looks beautiful in general, there are lots of gouges and scratches in various pieces in the job that do not look natural. Was it not installed properly and should I ask for a redo?

Dear Elizabeth,

I wouldn't do a job with gouges in the stone, so I think a redo is reasonable. They should at least replace the stones with the gouges.
