Glossy FlagStone?

by Brian
(Mass)

I see some photos of Flagstone with a glossy shine to it. Is that because its wet? Or is there a shine to the stone somehow?

Dear Brian,

We found a good sealer that could give you the glossy look.

You can read details about it with an article that I wrote:

Hi Brian,

The pictures could have been wet or they used a sealer with urethane in it; however, you never want to use urethane.

Urethane traps the moisture and then you'll get white blotches coming out of your stone.

You have to use a sealer that allows the stones to "breathe."

I get a lot of e-mails from people who used a "wet look" sealer and the stone ends up looking miserable.

To get a quality sealer, call Prosoco at 1-800-255-4255 and find out where to get it in your area. Those are the sealers that my dad uses.

Great luck!

David
