Flagstone turned white and flaking

We have flagstone around our pool and deck. Had a local company come out a year ago and seal the flagstone. Now the flagstone has turned white. In some areas a layer of the stone is actually flaking off. Any ideas on how to clean off this stuff. I tried muriatic acid full strength and it helps, but doesnt completely get off the old sealer.

maybe "white scum remover"

Hi Jason,

There's a product called "white scum remover" from Prosoco that might help you with your problem-. We haven't used it, so you should call them at 1-800-255-4255. You can see details here:

You will also want to seal your stone after you remove the white scum. Prosoco also makes some quality sealers for your situation.
