Flagstone sealing

We have an 8" flagstone ledge around our inground spa (done about 2 months ago). Should this flagstone be sealed?

We also have that faux stone siding around the outside of the shell (about 2 ft high). Should this rock be sealed?

Sealing Flagstone is a good idea.

Dear Robert,

My dad always recommends sealing. It preserves the stone and mortar joints for a lot longer. Just make sure not to use any sealers with urethane in it. That will trap the moisture and cause efflorescence. We've had great luck with Prosoco products. You can call them at 1-800-255-4255 and they can help you out with what you need.
