Flagstone Sealing is Very Easy to Apply!

Flagstone Sealing is just like painting. Just take out your paint roller hooked to a long-handle and roll it on.

We use Siloxane from Prosoco on all our flagstone projects.

If you have just laid a new flagstone pad, it is best to wait two weeks before applying Siloxane. You want to let most of the moisture from the pad evaporate out!

Siloxane is nice because it allows moisture to evaporate out without allowing moisture in.

Depending on how much sun you get in your area, Siloxane should last you at least 2 to three years. When water doesn't make bubbles like wax on a car, then it is time to think about sealing your flagstone again.

It is tempting to use a Urethane Sealer because it gives stone a wet look. Do not use that because the stone and concrete cannot breathe. It will cause the Alkaline in the concrete to work its way out which causes the stone to have gray blotches all over it.

Call your Building Materials Store in your area and ask them about Siloxane or if they have another Sealer that they would recommend.

You can also contact Prosoco to get the best information on your particular flagstone.

Home Depot, Lowes, or Ace Hardware don't have it and we don't think the sealers they have are as good.
