Flagstone Question About Thin Stone

It is best to use at least 2 inches thick flagstone when laying it in sand.

Marge has some thin stone and wasn't sure what to do with it.

Question:

We purchased thin flagstone an inch or less in thickness and want to use it for a sidewalk. Should we lay it on cement or sand? I think it's too thin to lay on sand what are your thoughts?

Answer:

Dear Marge,

You're best off laying it in cement. It will move too much if you lay it in sand. It's too hard to compact it with such thin stone.

Great luck with you project.

David and Hans
