flagstone patio and walkway repair

Our house is 16 years old...it was 10 old when we bought it.
It is almost completely surrounded by wide, long flagstone walkways and a huge flagstone patio in the back....lots and lots of flagstone.
The mortar in between each piece is chipping away, and in some places, the whole piece of flagstone has come off.
We've tried several times over the past two years to get a contractor to come and see this and give us an estimate to repair all. I would think it would be in the thousands. We can not get anyone to repair it.

I've become so impatient with waiting..year by year, winter by winter, the water and freezing is slowly creeping underneath and breaking up this beautiful look
around our home.
I know this will take days, maybe even weeks, but can you give me step-by-step instructions on how to repair this?
I would really appreciate your help!!!

Dear Sean/Karen,

You will probably need to rent a diamond blade saw from a tool rental shop. Most of shops have them, but you might want to call ahead to make sure.
