Flagstone Cleaning and Sealing

by Don King

We bought a home with a 4 year old 20 X 20 flagstone patio in Albuquerque. The gaps between the stones are from 1/4 inch to 6 inch and sealed together with Quikcrete Sand/Topping Mix. Between the sun and the rain, more flagstone flakes off weekly. I am looking for a suggestion for cleaning and sealing most likely some recommended product that I would apply myself. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Dupont Stonetech Sealers NEW

We used Dupont Stonetech Saltwater or Heavy Duty Sealer. It seems to have the highest silicone count of all the sealers. It was applied by Texas Stone Sealers, who also used a multistep cleaning process. In addition, they offer a 3 year warranty. So far, we are very happy with the results.
