Hi, I plan on laying about 6 or 8 large pices of 1 1/2 in. flag for a walkway leading to my shop. Each piece will weigh around 150 to 200 lbs. I don't plan on any special base just good old earth making sure to fill voids underneath so they are stable and do not rock when walked on.In your opinion does this method sound OK to you.Just want to keep it simple as I usually over do everything. I will have 1 to 1 1/2 in. rock surrounding the flag. Also I've been told not to seal because it will have to be striped off periodically and re-sealed on a reg. basis. Can I use a penetrating sealer? on not seal at all. Thank you. Doug

you might want some sand

Dear Doug,

You could lay your six to eight pieces in the "good-ole-earth," but you'll have a hard time leveling it. If you can buy a little sand, then it will make your job easier to get it level.
